“You’re ‘news’—this won’t be the last time.” George picked up his beer, put it down carefully without drinking. “Should’ve seen this coming: the job’s getting too big for me, Andy. A professional team—”
“—Would have me a beast on display.” He shook his head wearily. Last thing I want is handlers. “It’s bad enough.”
“Fine. I’ll do me best. But I decide when it’s to be kicked up.”
“We decide.” The adrenaline was fading, scouring him empty. A few hours sleep. Pour the rage onto tomorrow’s film. “When needs be.”
Grant will understand.
